Appalachiosaurus is a dinosaur confirmed to come to Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK.
Appalachiosaurus in life was a tyrannosauroid dinosaur native to Appalachia, the eastern continent when North America was split into two continents by the Western Interior Seaway. It lived around 75 million years ago, back when proper tyrannosaurs of similar size such as Albertosaurus, Gorgosaurus, and Daspletosaurus were on Laramidia, the western american continent. It is one of the only dinosaurs known from Appalachia, hence the origin of its name.
Appalachiosaurus was originally in the original Additional Creatures mod, but has since been removed and will come to Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. As such it'll likely fill a similar role. Prior to removal, Appalachiosaurus was a small, squishy, but incredibly fast creature that had a variety of moves. It had a bleeding bite and it's signature ability: a roar that stuns enemies. While not so special now, it was the first of its kind upon its introduction. This combination of speed and utility made it a bane for players who entered the Redwoods, often being conceived as an annoying trickster that could be a valuable early-game tame. The concept art displays a fairly unique design, being very lean with a dashing blue and yellow pattern.
