Synopsis
Binturongs are small but chunky mammals, a type of civet, and omnivore. Found only in tropical environments, this species from the modern world is known for a very bizarre trait- they smell like Popcorn. Affectionately called “BearCats”, Binturong on the arks are very much the same as they were on our own home- though a little bigger, and for some reason, packing a venomous bite. They likely evolved this with their tough-for-their-size physique in order to fend of their smaller natural predators. Rough and tumble, when tamed, they are affectionate and even lazy pets that are good company. However, many a smart survivor have tamed them for an additional purpose- their strange scent. When tamed, it appears the effects of this strange scent amplify, causing nearby wild creatures to become hungry. This makes it an excellent taming partner!

Binturongs have an AoE buff called "Popcorn Scent", which causes wild creatures near it to lose hunger faster. This makes it a useful taming buddy.
Notes/Trivia
- Binturong can wear hats, albeit they clip through the creature's head.
- Binturongs in real life very much smell like popcorn, hence its primary ability.
- Binturong is a civet, which is a family of elongated modern carnivores on the same side of their family tree as cats, hyenas, mongooses, and linsangs.
- The binturong used to have venom, but this was removed.
