Additional Creatures Wiki

The Bunyip is a cryptid fantasy creature in Additional Creatures.

The Bunyip is one of the most obscure cryptids. Coming from Australia, it is quite literally sighted with a variety of features- from wings to claws, scales, arms,a beak, teeth, feathers- practically anything you could describe an animal having, somebody has reported a Bunyip with said feature. What the survivors from Australia on the Arks are calling “Bunyip”, however, seems to be some sort of bizzare creature with no true living relative. Some sort of massive, shaggy swamp monster with incredible power and an intimidating stature. An aggressive and territorial animal, it goes after any creature that dares approach its swampy habitat. This Predator is known for seemingly random spurts of complete rage, so beware if you come across one. Tamed, it could prove a peerless fighter...

  • For being one of Australia's most famous cryptids, it shockingly lacks any consistent sort of design. It has been described as a crocodile-like animal, a bear-like animal, human-like, and even depicted as an alien-like creature with tentacles. Because of this massive lack of design consistency, it was decided that various aspects of these various depictions would be combined to create a distinct design for the mod.
  • One of the Bunyip's most famous explanation attempts is that it is a surviving population of the giant wombat Diprotodon.
  • The owl portion of the Bunyip design is based on the Powerful Owl.
