Concavenators are dinosaurs in Additional Creatures.
Synopsis
Concavenator is a cunning medium-sized carnivore on the island. Aside from its strange humpbacked appearance, Concavenator doesn't really stand out compared to other mid-sized theropods. It is expectedly durable, expectedly strong, and as fast as you'd expect for something its size. However, what might come as a surprise is Concavenator's strange color palette. This is because this is Concavenator's only warning to other creatures around it: “Do NOT mess with me!”. Its bright and vibrant color schemes are a warning to both predators and prey alike due to Concavenator's unique biological adaptation. Within Concavenator's jaws, is a highly acidic saliva. Whether this acidic effect is caused by bacteria within the saliva or the saliva itself is yet unknown. However, this causes bites from Concavenator to burn and corrode, weakening their target's defenses and allowing them to damage targets easier. This allows them to punch in above their weight class in both offense and self defense, threatening off would-be predators and making kills much easier. This strange ability makes Concavenator a prize combat and hunting mount, with its acidic bite able to weaken enemy defenses.

Notes/Trivia
- Concavenator means "Cuenca Hunter", after Cuenca: the province in Spain where it was found.
- The Concavenator's acidic bite was inspired by the Deviljho from the Monster Hunter franchise, whose bite inflicts a "Defense Down" debuff onto players.
- Concavenator is one of the earliest and smallest in the theropod family called Carcharodontosaurs: allosaur descendants that're known for their incredibly bladed teeth. Other notable members of the family include Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus.
- The purpose for Concavenator's strange back structures is unknown, but it was likely more of a gradual hump near the end of the back rather than a pair of sporattic sails.
- Concavenator's arm bones have a set of impressions on them which have been the center of controversy for years. Some argue that they are quill knobs, knobs on the arm bone which would have supported a wing of feathers in life, while others are convinced that they're simply attachment points for arm muscles.
- The Concavenator in the mod is known for its bright coloration, which was actually inspired by the poison dart frog: a warning to its acidic bite.
