Atrociraptor

Atrociraptor

Atrociraptor TLC Concept Art

Atrociraptors were very small, pudgy raptors that were a part of the original Additional Creatures mod. Living exclusively on beaches, they were mild-mannered for raptor kind, only attacking when in very close proximity to them. They were the earliest available tames in the original Additional Creatures mod, being passive-tamed fairly easily from behind with meat and basic game knowledge, regardless of survivor level. Their attacks also inflicted an "ankle biter" status that slowed enemies down. Atrociraptor was removed from Additional Creatures when the original mod was removed, but was intended to be recast as a TLC later in Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. However, the Atrociraptor's return was eventually scrapped all together.

Warrah

Warrah

The Warrah was a fox-like animal in the original Additional Creatures mod. Best known for living on the beaches, this small canine acted as another small predator to be wary of, akin to Dilophosaurus and Atrociraptor. However, the Warrah differed due to being opportunistic rather than outright aggressive, fleeing when it felt outmatched. It also had an attack that let it grab onto small creatures like dodos. It was removed alongside the removal of the original Additional Creatures mod, and was slated for a TLC, although it was never really made clear how and when. This TLC never came to be.

Deinonychus

346110 screenshots 20170527103905 1

Deinonychus is a dinosaur that used to be in the original Additional Creatures mod. It lived in the islands jungles as well as desert badlands and redwoods, where it was one of the top predators. Although it was smaller than a carno, it could easily compete with them in terms of power. It was also incredibly aggressive. It acted as a transitionary raptor between Achillobator and Dakotaraptor. It was removed in the same patch as a majority of the original mod TLC creatures, only it was removed permanently because of ARK: Additions having Deinonychus at the time. The spirit of this creature will live on in Additional Creatures as Dromaeosaurus.

Gasosaurus

1768499278 preview Gas1

Gasosaurus was a dinosaur that was introduced with the JPE Rebalance Expansion of Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK, where its model was the Jurassic Park Allosaurus model. Gasosaurus in the mod was a medium sized theropod found in jungle environments, that was known for inflicting raptor bleed with its bite, being immune to poisons, and having a gang bonus. It was known to suffer from a multitude of bugs near the end of its lifespan, before it was removed with the death of the JPE Rebalance expansion. It was planned to return in the base mod, but this was scrapped.

Giant Bison

Bison

Giant Bison were large herbivores that were in the original Additional Creatures mod. They are territorial herbivores that live in herds in mostly snowy regions, but could be found elsewhere. They were known for their tough nature, having a sprint which got faster overtime, and being able to be harvested for mutton, akin to sheep. it was removed from Additional Creatures with the removal of the original Additional Creatures mod. It was confirmed to receive a TLC in the future, but this has since been scrapped.

Miracinonyx

346110 screenshots 20170614002109 1
Miracinonyx

Miracinonyx TLC Concept Art

Miracinonyx, otherwise known as the American Cheetah, was a cat that was in the original Additional Creatures mod. In the original mod, Miracinonyx was known as the fastest land creature, in both Additional Creatures and base ARK, at the cost of poor stamina. It was removed from the original Additional Creatures when the original mod was removed, but was planned to return with a TLC in Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK, which would have given it more cheetah-like qualities. However, it's return to Additional Creatures was eventually scrapped.

Arizonasaurus

20191122164930 1

Arizonasaurus is a sail-back reptile that was added in Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK, where it could be found in beaches, grassland, and desert. Its main use was as an actually useful alternate to the dimetrodon. Being rideable and decent in combat, while having the ability to insulate the rider and nearby allies. Arizonasaurus's insulation increases with melee damage, which increases at a higher rate than most creatures. Arizonasaurus was eventually removed for good due to constraints on the size of the mod making a TLC unviable, and the current form of it being unpolished.

Euoplocephalus

Euploc
EuoploAC2

Euoplocephalus TLC Concept Art

Euoplocephalus was a large ankylosaur that was introduced in the JPE Rebalance Expansion of Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK, where it used the ankylosaurus model. Euoplocephalus acted largely similar to ankylosaurus, but also gathered wood and stone. Its club tail also had the ability to stun creatures and damage stone structures. While planned to receive a TLC, this was scrapped along with any further updates, and was finally removed after the JPE Rebalance Expansion shut down.

Giant Dart Frog

346110 screenshots 20191012100105 1

The Giant Dart Frog is a frog that was introduced in the JPE Rebalance Expansion of Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. It was very similar to the Beelzebufo, although smaller and brightly colored, living in similar habitats. Its signature characteristic was that that creatures that physically attacked it would be inflicted with Neurotoxic Venom, which slowed and blinded, along with the other effects that venom typically gave. The Giant Dart Frog was removed after the JPE Rebalance Expansion was shut down.

Monolophosaurus

Monolophosaurus

Monolophosaurus is a large theropod dinosaur that was introduced to the JPE Rebalance Expansion of Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. Found in open areas, the Monolophosaurus was known for its bite giving the Mega Rabies disease. Outside of this, Monolophosaurus was quite basic, with the other notable characteristics being its bite also ignoring/shredding armor and its ability to heal from eating corpses. Monolophosaurus was removed after the JPE Rebalance Expansion was shut down.

Andrewsarchus

CED5D2BF89A9C9D70821C62F3DA4F578317BFFE6

Andrewsarchus regia was a large mammalian creature that was added to Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK, and could be found around beach areas. Despite their scary wolf-like appearance, they were omnivores that weren't bothered by or aggressive to people. They could be tamed passively at lvl 45, and were considered an amazing generalist mount due to general gathering ability, great combat potential, and high speed with the ability to jump. It's bite harvested meat, berries, and fiber. It also had a claw attack and the ability to roar on command, which inflicted intimidation like a mammoth. It also had the ability to quickly regenerate health upon eating corpses. The Andrewsarchus was removed due to it being confirmed to be added officially to ARK: Survival Evolved after its addition.

Ornitholestes

Orni

Ornitholestes was a medium-sized carnivorous dinosaur that was introduced in the JPE Rebalance Expansion of Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. Ornitholestes was lanky in build despite its large size, resembling Herrerasaurus, and had a distinct nose crest. It also had a coat of feathers, a trait that was absent in the original model from the Jurassic Park Expansion mod, where all models from the JPE Rebalance Expansion originated from. Found largely in tropical regions, Ornitholestes was a hunter that inflicted Neurotoxic Venom, which slowed and blinded, along with the other effects that venom typically gave. Ornitholestes was removed after the JPE Rebalance Expansion was shut down.

Sinosaurus was added as a part of the JPE Rebalance Expansion of Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK, using the Dilophosaurus model. Sinosaurus was considered and added to the mod to be a larger and more realistic counterpart to the Dilophosaurus. It had a venomous bite and a claw slash attack that inflicted bleed. It was removed with the death of the JPE Rebalance Expansion. It was planned to return in the main mod with a TLC but was scrapped.

Beast of Dartmoor

1523045986 preview Dartmoor1

The Beast of Dartmoor was a cryptid originally in the Paranoia Expansion for Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. Living largely in grasslands environment, it was a heavily built feline known for its bleeding attacks and infrared vision. It was originally removed from Additional Creatures when the Paranoia Expansion became its own mod, since the Beast of Dartmoor mostly relied on the code from Amphicyon to function. It was going to receive a TLC and later return in Additional Creatures 2: Paranoia, but it was eventually removed all together.

Dracorex

1768499278 preview Dracorex1

Living in the more mountainous regions, the Dracorex is a large pachycephalosaur that was originally in the JPE Rebalance Expansion of Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. Dracorex was the largest of the pachycephalosaurs in ARK, in the Additional Creatures series, and was extremely temperamental. This temperament manifests in an enrage ability, boosting attack by 2.5x and defense by 30%. Many of the dracorex's abilities were also heavily influenced by dragons, having a venomous bite and fire-breath. When tamed, it could also gather metal and acted as a smithy in its inventory. Dracorex was removed when the JPE Rebalance Expansion was shut down.

Inostrancevia

Ino

Inostrancevia ferus was a large stem-mammal that was added to Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. It was the only creature first revealed through "The Spektor Terminal", which was a discord channel in the official discord which gave snippets of lore. It was found exclusively in the redwoods biome, where it was known for a very particular status effect that it inflicted with its bite: Redwood Fever. The following is a description of Redwood Fever.

"Redwood Fever is distinct in Additional Creatures for being a disease rather than a typical status effect. It is a non-contagious disease, so it cannot be spread actively between individuals. It can be cured with a lesser antidote. Redwood Fever, for those either intentionally or unintentionally uncured, will experience Redwood Fever in 3 different periods:

It starts with the Redwood Fever itself, which in itself has three stages.

Stage 1 of Redwood Fever lasts 15 minutes, and is the only form of the fever that affects both players and creatures. It subjects the player to the following effects:

  • -2.4 health/sec
  • -1 water/sec

Stage 2 of Redwood Fever lasts 30 minutes, and subjects the player to the following effects:

  • -0.001 stamina/sec
  • -2 food/sec
  • -4 water/sec
  • -2 fortitude/sec

Stage 3 of Redwood Fever lasts 2 minutes, and subjects the player to the following effects:

  • -15 health/sec
  • -5 stamina/sec
  • -8 food/sec
  • -8 water/sec
  • -5 fortitude/sec
  • +70 torpor/sec

After one survives the fever itself, there is then the Recovery Period. The recovery period lasts 1 hour, and subjects the player to the following effects:

  • -70% defense
  • -50% stamina
  • -50% oxygen
  • -2 food/sec
  • -2 water/sec
  • -50% fortitude
  • +0.01 torpor/sec

After the recovery period, the player receives a permanent Survivor Buff from being able to withstand the Redwood Fever, which has the following effects:

  • +20% defense
  • +5 health/sec when healing
  • +30% stamina
  • +30% oxygen
  • +30% melee damage
  • +30% fortitude
  • Immunity to Swamp Fever
  • Immunity to Mega Rabies"

This disease made Inostrancevia an absolute menace to those unprepared, while also providing a challenge and opportunity for more power. Inostrancevia also recieved a "Cruel Hunter" buff when near entities inflicted with Redwood Fever, boosting its own damage and defense. Inostrancevia was eventually removed due to constraints on the size of the mod making a TLC unviable, and the current form of it being unpolished. Part of the Additional Creatures Inostrancevia lives on in the Inostrancevia from the Prehistoric Beasts mod, as it shares a similar design.

Chimere

913884181 preview NewAc16

Scarlett Chimere

The Chimere was the first fantasy creature ever implemented into Additional Creatures, and was still the only base-mod one up until its removal. Living in the redwoods, they were smaller manticore-like creatures that existed in three forms. The red Scarlett Chimere used fire, the orange Amur Chimere used electricity, and the black Shadow Chimere used frenzy spores that caused nearby creatures to go after those inflicted. They were removed due to the poor quality of the models and their general premise overstaying its welcome.

Dakotaraptor

Dakotsa

Dakotaraptor was a giant raptor that used to be in the original Additional Creatures mod. Living in snowy regions, it was the largest raptor to exist, both in Additional Creatures and base ARK, being similar in height to Carnotaurus. It acted as an apex predator that focused around speed rather than strength, being extremely fast and capable of jumping over tyrannosaurs. Its attacks involved a series of swipes, bites, and kicks. The most notable attacks where it having the ability to grapple smaller enemies with its arms and start to bite them multiple times, as well as a double kick which caused bleeding. It was removed from Additional Creatures with the removal of the original mod. While it was planned later on to get a TLC, this was eventually scrapped.

Giant Giraffe

346110 screenshots 20180609192839 1

The Giant Giraffe is exactly what it sounded like, a giant giraffe, that was a part of the original Additional Creatures mod. It was an exclusive to Scorched Earth, a passive giant that swung its head and kicked its feet to attack, although it'd usually run despite its massive size. It was removed from the mod due to the Giraffe from the game ATLAS being implemented into various other ARK mods, which suited the same purpose but was higher in quality.

Longdan Tiger

346110 screenshots 20170618163318 1
Longdan-0

Longdan Tiger TLC Concept Art

The Longdan Tiger was a large cat that used to be in the original Additional Creatures mod. It was a giant predatory feline that lived in snowy regions, where it was one of the top predators, able to tackle enemies much larger than itself, which made it desirable as a combat tame. It also came in white and all-white variations. The Longdan Tiger was removed with the removal of the original Additional Creatures, and was planned to receive a TLC and come to Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. However, it's returned to Additional Creatures has since been scrapped.

Pterodactyl

Pterodactyl TLC Concept Art

Pterodactyls were large pterosaurs that were in the original Additional Creatures mod. In the original mod, they were large aerial predators that were comparable to Argentavis in size, usage, and habitat. They were removed with the removal of the original Additional Creatures mod, but were slated to receive a TLC and be added to Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. This TLC was to see them be completely overhauled. In design they were more flamboyant, being heavily inspired by the Ropen cryptid. This redesign was to complement their new habitat of the element chamber on Aberration, where they would feed on rock drake eggs and be unique as Aberration's sole flyer. However, this TLC was eventually scrapped, along with pterodactyl's return entirely.

Sornatyrannus

346110 screenshots 20170511114751 1

Sornatyrannus is a large species of tyrannosaur that used to be in the original mod. It acted as a transitionary species between Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus. While Giganotosaurus was the super predator of the snow and mountains, Sornatyrannus was the super predator of the jungles. It was incredibly large, between Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus in size, and with the power to pick up large creatures in its mouth. It also had a roar that stunned smaller creatures. As the name and appearance implies, it was inspired by the Tyrannosaurus in the Jurassic Park Franchise. It was removed in the same patch as the majority of the TLC creatures, but was removed permenantly due to the fact that the concept and design of the creature itself was rather uninspired, as well as the model generally being of poor quality.

Triceratops horridus

Horridus
Horrid

Triceratops horridus TLC Model

Triceratops horridus was a ceratopsid from the original Additional Creatures mod. In the mod, it acted as the purebred counterpart to the ARK Triceratops and Styracosaurus. It was a much tougher and dangerous animal, being territorial, living in herds with a pack buff, and having bleeding horns. It was removed along with the removal of the original Additional Creatures mod, but was planned to receive a TLC and be moved to Additional Creatures: Senior Class. However, its return to Additional Creatures was eventually scrapped.

Xenos

346110 screenshots 20170708102344 1

Xenos are a species of alien-type creatures that used to exist in the original Additional Creatures. They were group-hunting creatures that existed in the snow regions of the island. They inherently resembled xenomorphs, and were incredibly resistant, using their armor and group structure to resist damage while tearing anything to shreds. Their social structure is heavily inspired by the raptorial bird wyverns of the Monster Hunter franchise, with the swarm of Xenoprey being led by a large Kaiser Xenodrome. Lone xenoprey individuals could also be found in jungle environments while packs could be found in frost regions. The introduction of the Xenos into the original Additional Creatures mod sparked backlash due to the poor quality of the models and the overall aesthetic clash between it and the rest of the roster. As a result, it was one of the first creatures in Additional Creatures to be removed. Over a year after its removal, a TLC for its own mod was announced, but it has since been slated to release within Pyria, another mod by the same mod developer, rather than stay as part of the Additional Creatures series.

Charonosaurus

Charono-0

Charonosaurus TLC Concept Art

Charonosaurus was a type of large hadrosaur, closely resembling Parasaurolophus, that was originally a part of the JPE Rebalance Expansion of Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK, where it used the Parasaurolophus model. While being largely and having greater stats than a Parasaurolophus, Charonosaurus was known most for its sounds. Along with having a call that frightened smaller creatures, it also had a song system. This song system involved the Charonosaurus systematically buffing nearby allies, at the cost of oxygen for as long as the song is active. The song's effects lasted until the songs were canceled or the Charonosaurus passed itself out from lack of oxygen. These songs were an Offensive Song, which boosted attack and defense, and a Vitality Song, which regenerated the stamina of allies and healed allies over time. While initially planned to receive a TLC in the future, the Charonosaurus getting any updates was scrapped, and was removed entirely with the removal of the JPE Rebalance Expansion.

Cryolophosaurus

346110 screenshots 20191010232152 1

Originally a part of the JPE Rebalance Expansion of Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK, Cryolophosaurus is a large theropod dinosaur that could be found in snowy regions. Its main notable ability, aside from being able to turn in place, was its spit, which had the ability to freeze opponents. Cryolophosaurus was removed due to the addition of Cryolophosaurus in the ARK: Additions series.

Gigantoraptor

346110 screenshots 20190908203437 1

Gigantoraptor was an omnivorous large oviraptor-like dinosaur that was introduced to Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. With a design inspired from the Therizinosaurus from Dino Crisis, Gigantoraptor appeared quite similar to Therizinosaurus (even using the same saddle when tamed), but it had signfiicant differences. While usually docile, gigantoraptor would become quite powerful when attacked. This is because, every time the gigantoraptor attacked, it had a percent chance of immedietly following it up with a another attack that is dished out even faster. On lucky attacks this would mean extreme amounts of burst damage. It also had the ability to harvest berries, meat, fiber, and honey. Gigantoraptor was eventually removed due to constraints on the size of the mod making a TLC unviable, and the current form of it being unpolished.

Brontoscorpio

346110 screenshots 20190123181818 1

Brontoscorpio was a giant scorpion that was added to Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK, being found in the ocean. Brontoscorpio has a similar appearance to Pulmonoscorpius, except being significantly larger, having smaller claws and stinger porportionally, and baring markings that glow in the dark. Brontoscorpio walked along the bottom of the the ocean, occasionally venturing onto land, albeit not being able to bare it for long due to being crushed under its own weight. Along with being much stronger, the Brontoscorpio was very armored. Only fire, explosives, dunkleosteus, rock elementals, and giganotosaurus ignored these defenses. The stinger inflicted high-tier venom rather than torpor. Brontoscorpio was eventually removed due to constraints on the size of the mod making a TLC unviable, and the current form of it being unpolished.

Prognathodon

Prognathodon TLC Concept Art

Prognathodon was a large mosasaur that lived in the original Additional Creatures mod. Prognathodon was known as being one of the ocean's apex predators, alongside the likes of Tusoteuthis, Mosasaurus, Brachauchenius, and Tylosaurus. Prognathodon stood out among them by being much more sluggish and less aggressive, although not to Tylosaurus's extent, and having an armored hide. It also had a roar ability that stunned smaller creatures. Prognathodon was removed with the removal of the original Additional Creatures mod, but was planned to receive a TLC in the future and be added to Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. It's TLC design was very striking, having characteristics inspired by the tylosaurs from Walking with Dinosaurs and Jurassic Park. However, the return of Prognathodon to Additional Creatures was eventually scrapped.

Spinosaurus sornaensis

Sorna

Originally a part of the JPE Rebalance Expansion of Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK, Spinosaurus sornaensis was one of the most powerful dinosaurs in Additional Creatures. A large apex predator, this dinosaur's most notable ability was that it was specialized in dealing with other big carnivores, dealing double damage to them in particular. This ability, combined with its already high power level, left it as one of the few dinosaurs that could actually rival the Smok saurovindico. It also had a myriad of other abilities like bleed and being just as effective in water as it is on land, having an underwater spin move and had a hydration buff upon touching water. Spinosaurus sornaensis is believed to have been removed due to a new and improved Spinosaurus of this style being made by the original creator.

Ahool

Ahool-1

Ahool TLC Concept Art

The Ahool was a massive bat that was added in the original Additional Creatures mod. The Ahool is notable for being the first cryptid to ever be added into Additional Creatures, existing before the concepts of cryptids being a distinct class, or Additional Creatures 2: Paranoia, even became ideas. The Ahool in-game was a large aggressive flyer found exclusively in jungle regions, with a uniform brown body and red eyes that glowed in the dark. Its role was that of an ambush flyer. While having standard flight speed when not sprinting, Ahool's sprint flight speed was extremely fast, faster than any other creature in base ARK or Additional Creatures at the time, but this came at the cost of stamina draining extremely quickly when used. Its attacks also caused bleeding. The Ahool was removed from Additional Creatures when the original mod was removed, but was intended to be recast as a TLC later in Additional Creatures 2: Paranoia. However, the Ahool's return was eventually scrapped all together.

Laophis

Laophis TLC Concept Art

Laophis was a snake that was in the original Additional Creatures mod. Living in the jungle, it was the most venomous creature in ARK, capable of killing a titanosaur in only two bites. It was removed when the original Additional Creatures mod was removed, and was planned to receive a TLC in the future. This TLC was planned to overhaul its behavior, being more ambush oriented, as well as its venom gaining hallucenigenic properties alongside the near guaranteed death from the bite. This did not come to fruition forever, as its return to Additional Creatures was scrapped.

Palaeoloxodon

Palaeoloxodon fortetherium, with fortetherium meaning "stone beast", was originally in the original Additional Creatures mod, where it was was a very large and aggressive beast, known for trampling and breaking through anything in its path, whether it be stone, trees, or structures. It also had its own musth buff akin modern elephants. It was removed with the death of the original Additional Creatures mod, but was planned for a TLC to bring it back in Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. However, with the confirmation of Deinotherium in the ARK Additions mod, Palaeoloxodon was seen as no longer being neccesary as an inclusion, and thus the TLC was scrapped, leaving it lost for good.

Tetsuceratops

Tetsu

Tetsuceratops TLC Concept Art

Tetsuceratops is a giant herbivore from the original Additional Creatures mod. Living only in the redwoods, Tetsuceratops was a massive ceratopsian dinosaur that was known for its heavy armor, high damage, and the ability to gore victims onto its horns. It was removed from Additional Creatures with the removal of the Additional Creatures mod, but it was planned to return as a TLC in Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. This TLC was notable for giving it more of a pachyrhinosaur-like design. However, its return to Additional Creatures was eventually scrapped.

Shadowlord Deinonychus

Shadowlord

Shadowlord Deinonychus was the boss creature of the original Additional Creatures mod. Predominantly female, it was a rare sight in the redwoods, where it commanded a horde of deinonychus. It was completely untamable and acted as the mod's final challenge. It was removed in the same patch as the original batch of TLC dinosaurs, but was removed due to ARK: Additions having Deinonychus. The spirit of the creature will on in Additional Creatures as Shadowlord Dromaeosaurus.

Orthros

346110 screenshots 20170505003140 1

Orthros is a mythical beast that used to be in the original mod. Best described as a two-headed dog-dragon, it was an event creature in the mod, only spawning in the redwoods during certain times. It was a creature with pretty mediocre health and speed, but with the two heads was an offensive machine; the very definition of wallbreaker. It was in the mod to promote an upcoming mod from the same mod developer: Pyria Mythos Evolved. It was removed not long after that mod was born.

Graviorex

346110 screenshots 20170618162435 1

Graviorex was a large dragon-like beast that used to be in the original mod as an event creature. It appeared in the mountainous regins during events, where it was incredibly powerful. It acted as the dragon equivalent of a tank: having impressive armor and, although capable of flight, was terrible at flying and sticked mostly to the ground. It was still powerful while being tanky, having an explosive breath and a roar that knocked enemies back. It acted as an event creature to promote a new mod by the same mod developer: Pyria Mythos Evolved. Once the mod was created and it was added to the mod, it was removed not long after from Additional Creatures.

Ryu

346110 screenshots 20170601203108 1

Ryu is an event creature that used to be in the original mod. It is a very large creature that appeared in the river systems during events, bearing a large resemblance to dragons in Asian Culture. Like said dragons, it was also a rather peaceful creature, able to be passively tamed. Don't let that fool you though, as it is incredibly powerful, having a sparkbreath as well as a powerful fireclap attack. Regardless, it was in the mod to support another upcoming mod from the same developer: Pyria Mythos Evolved. It was removed from Additional Creatures not long after it was added to that one.

Drake

Drake

The Drake is an event creature that used to be in the original mod. Appearing only in the mountains during select events, it was an extremely powerful creature. Being powerful enough to challenge nearly any top predator, fast enough to span the entire island in only a few seconds, and having stats to suit any need, it was an incredibly powerful but difficult to obtain creature. It was in the mod as a promotional creature for another mod by the same developer: Pyria Mythos Evolved. It was removed from Additional Creatures shortly after its addition in Pyria.

Deviants

Deviants were special variants of certain creatures in the original mod. They were variants that were rare compared to their regular counterparts, tended to have a difference in color or size, and worked differently in terms of mechanics. They were removed for being deemed as unnecessary content.

346110 screenshots 20170614003321 1

The Furious Austroraptor was an austroraptor that was identical in terms of size to the regular Austroraptor, but was a blood red coloration and was incredibly aggressive, attacking anything in its path (including other austroraptors). It also had a dropkick attack that knocked out opponents.

346110 screenshots 20170505002748 1

The Ravenclaw Achillobator was a larger, stronger, rust-colored Achillobator whose claw attack caused blindness.

Howl

The Howling Appalachiosaurus was a larger, stronger, silver-colored Appalachiosaurus that was known for its distinct howling calls, which could be heard from quite a distance away. It also had a new roar attack that the regular Appalachiosaurus did not possess, which was very damaging instead of the typical stun.

346110 screenshots 20170527100559 1

The Coldsteel Belluasaurus was a more heavily-armored, sky-blue Belluasaurus who lived in the island's snowy regions rather than in the mountains typical of the species. Also, unlike its bretheren, it gathered metal rather than stone and wood.

Verdent

The Verdent Deinonychus was a much larger and more powerful Deinonychus that sported a molted green coloration. It's attacks also caused torpor, with the idea being that its teeth and claws were covered by infectious bacteria.

346110 screenshots 20170505002546 1

The Bloodletter Oxalaia was a larger, stronger, blood-red Oxalaia that changed its lifestyle from river-dwelling to compeltely terrestrial, living in the island's jungles rather than the rivers and swamps. It also, as the name entails, caused bleeding with its attacks.

Fateburn

The Fateburn Laophis is a larger, stronger, magenta-colored Laophis whose venom works different from the regular individuals. Its venom in terms of raw damage was weaker than in the regular individuals, but the venom had the potency to affect bosses.

346110 screenshots 20170618162215 1

The Hellbastion Tetsuceratops was a very large, reddish Tetsuceratops that lived in the Monster Island region rather than redwoods as typical with the species. It was much stronger than the regular form, and had an extremely powerful slam attack rather than a grab.

Poison

The Poison-Dart Achillobator was the only limited-time Deviant, only available during certain events. It was smaller, faster, and was generally weaker than standard Achillobator, sporting a distinct bright green coloration with red stripes. Its secret weapon though was that it bared an extremely powerful poison that was even more lethal than that of Laophis.

Variants

Variants were variants of creatures from the original mod that had different color palletes than the standard individuals. Aside from that though, there is absolutely no difference between them and regular individuals. It was a way to promote color diversity in creatures that lacked color regions. They were removed mostly for being deemed as unnecessary content.

They lived in desert environments instead of snowy environments, ran faster but swam slower, had a unique immunity to sandstorms, and had its higher damage affinity towards giant mantis rather than kairuku. Eventually, this variation was fizzled out and the base form was given some of its attributes instead.

The UberSpinosaurus was the first hybrid ever properly introduced in the Additional Creatures series, specifically being introduced in the JPE Rebalance Expansion of Additional Creatures 2: Wild ARK. In lore, it was claimed to be a hybrid of the following: Spinosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, Deinosuchus, Fasolasuchus, Rajasaurus, and Yangchuanosaurus. The UberSpinosaurus was a creature that could not be found naturally in-game, and thus can only be obtained through cheating or some form of server modification. In terms of characteristics, it was largely identical to spinosaurus in moveset and abilities, with the main exceptions being its extremely powerful stats and armor, only being tamable through Apex Egg Kibble, and being vulnerable to explosions, the titanosaur, and titans. The UberSpinosaurus was removed after the JPE Rebalance Expansion was shut down.
